Hi,
I live on the corner of Ave A and Catalina and every single
morning, when I drive to work I stretch my neck a little (to look
over the monstrosity in front of me of course) and look for the
gaspigmobile.Thank you for making me smile and for doing a public
service.
When I was 15 I wanted a pathfinder. I really really wanted a
pathfinder. Just like the one you have. When my parents bought me
a little civic coupe in college (i am spoiled) I was very happy
with it. Now I am so glad that they did not get me the
pathfinder. Every time I fill up at the pump, I see the previous
customers total bill and I am appalled! $35, $,40, $65!!! This week I forked over $17, usually it hovers
around the $13. I love my car.
For those who say you can't fit anything in it... well I carted
around a 10 1/2 surfboard. IN IT. Just put down the backseat and
reclined the front seat and there you go. Not even a rack was
needed. Course I have a rack for the bikes and they pop on and
off in less than 4 seconds. I am a short girl and I don't even
have to ask a guy to fetch things for me from my impossibly high
roof rack. It's good to be independent.
I don't like to tell people what they should or should not drive.
The beauty of this country is it's freedom... which unfortunately
sometimes equates to the freedom of being a selfish pig. Care
more about yourself, about this world and about the actions that
you make!
On a depressing note, every car in my apt. complex driveway area
is a truck/suv. So much for South Bay leading the way for forward
minded thinking.
Keep up the good work. I will be looking forward to seeing the
gaspig mobile spreading some love to our friendly community! You
guys/gals are AWESOME.

Fereshteh:
wow thanks for a great email! man, i wish i could do the gaspig
thing for a living... sometimes i have to neglect it for day job
stuff, but it's a really fun project. your comments about your
car are exactly what i've been trying to get into people's thick
skulls. honestly, i think people drive SUVs mostly because
utility is in fashion - that's hard to stop. perhaps gas prices
will rise more. just a few cents rise reduces suv sales by the
thousands... wish my stuff had the same effect! however i will
say, the fleet of gaspig mobiles is growing - so that's got to do
something to raise awareness! even some of the domino's boys are
driving them around :-) who knows, maybe it will take off. thanks
again for your letter!
