From Jenn:

Hi, I've seen the GasPig around Redondo for the past few weeks and have finally had a look at your website. think you have done a great job. Thanks for trying to make a difference. I myself cant understand the SUV phemomenon taking place here in LA and around the country. (apparently 50% of all cars on the road are SUV's!!) One point you may want to expand on on your site (I think you did touch on it) is that as long as we are so dependant on foreign oil supplies from the Middle East, there will continue to be an American presence there, which is one of the things that causes the helplessness, resentment, poverty and fear that develops into terrorism!! Thanks Again. I hope I keep seeing your GasPig parked along PCH.

Jenn

PS A Possible Solution...In England there are very few SUV's, in fact most people try to buy fuel efficient cars....why?? The gas is so heavily taxed that to fill a mid-size vehicle costs about twice as much as it does in the US!!! (It also cuts down what people consider to be an acceptable commute)

Jenn

Amen to taxing gas for private vehicles! if the oil lobby weren't so strong, and if our politicians would get a spine and tax fuel like governments do everywhere else in the world, then you'd see far fewer bonehead mobiles rolling around and drivers preaching our "god given" right to guzzle up all the world's fossil fuel. people wouldn't "need" big fat cars and trucks anymore. then, that tax money should go directly to teachers who play a big role in raising our children and who are currently rewarded for their hard work with poverty. (just an idea :-)

thanks for your thoughts on oil dependence and terrorism. couldn't have stated it better myself - and i'll post more about it, starting with your letter.

sincerely,
the Pig
