OK,
I am a pig and do feel guilty using my '96 landcruiser to commute to work in. However, I actually do enjoy offroading and there are eco-friendly ways to offroad it's not an oxymoron.

I am looking to purchase an everyday car to commute in. What do you guys think about a Volkswagen turbo diesel engine that gets approxl 40mpg??? How do diesel emmisions compare to gas?

want a sticker for your rover?? :-) regarding diesel, man i'm pretty much technically impaired so i'm probably not the best source of information. 40mpg is great - diesel is kind of funky but i recall reading something about the newer diesels being relatively clean. offroading is cool - getting a more fuel efficient ride for errands and the commute is a great idea!

Sure, I'll take a sticker. If you find out more regarding diesel let me know...If you can recommend a car for errands that will hold 2 baby seats I could use some advice there as well.

great! i'll send you a sticker - email me your mailing address and i'll get one in the mail. i know what you mean about the car seats... my wife and i use an accord - works great. even the civic is good - not to mention it's getting raves on it's safety standards - blows away most suvs...
