Pig,
Just a quick note to say rock on brother! I think what you are
doing is way cool. I loved reading the
letters to gaspig.com, and your responses to some are hilarious.
I don't think Sissy thinks you are out of your mind about this. I
think she is damn proud to be married to a man who can stand up
for what he believes in. Keep up the good work.
Jeanne
PS
I missed the Fox interview last night. Did you make a copy of it?
I'd love to see it. You have to know that I have put in at least
2 hours today surfing your site. It's like I'm addicted or
something. How weird is that? Are you enjoying "Stupid White
Men?" I can't wait to hear your review.
Later.

Hi Jeanne!
you are so cool! I'm posting some new letters that came in after
the fox 11 story - some fun stuff! talk about addictions - i can
hardly wait to check emails every day i wander into the office.
i'll post at least the audio from the fox story this week...
sissy's hanging in there but she's sort of being drug along on a
mission she didn't choose. i think she understands, though, that
i'm at a place in my life where i want to make a difference.
basically that's where i'm at - its simple really - if a hundred
gallons or a hundred billion gallons of gas are saved because i
happen to exist, cool! if it's a selfish attempt to build self
esteem, so be it. i'm sure i'm past the hundred gallon mark cause
i've directly talked friends and skydivers and people I know in
production out of their trucks. its hard to say what effect
gaspig.com is having - i imagine it will make some folks think
twice at the dealership and that feels pretty good.
i read some of stupid white men - good lord, that guy's way
funny! i'm with him on the suvs for sure. his take on recycling
is kind of weak - so what if some of it is wasted. it's
guaranteed wasted if we don't separate the plastic paper and
cans. he's way way left, further than me, probably not as far as
my mom :-) obviously he sees no value in Bush - neither does my
mom. i'm kind of in a gray area on Bush - of course i think his
environmental perspective sucks. on the other hand, having a
cocky texan in the white house balanced a bit by Powell is
perhaps a good thing in times like these. i'm not sure where i
stand on iraq, but i was really impressed with Bush's ability to
persuade in his speech to the UN. saddam, who's a nightmare,
opening his country to inspectors after 11 years of starving his
own people and flipping the UN the middle finger, largely because
the white house is out to kick his regime's ass. saddam's a poker
player and bush is calling his bluff. so i have mixed feelings
based on very limited knowledge. anyway, the book is great. i
thought sissy already took it back to you. i'll check. thanks for
sending it over!
sorry for rambling on - i really appreciate your letter cause
this gaspig thing is gaining momentum and there's quite a bit of
doubt mixed in with the fun and excitement of it all.
bye for now
Pig
