Hi! Pig
Received your video and sticker. Will watch the video over the
weekend, looking forward to it. Thanks.
There has been an e-mail making it's way around about which oil
companies use foreign oil and which use only American oil.
Looking at the list made me think. It showed that Citgo, among
others, is American only oil. I thought that this was odd given
that the people that run 7-11's are always from the middle east.
I asked a friend that was in the Oil
industry why they wouldn't opt for their home cronies oil instead
of ours. He told me that they are required to buy oil from
a particular manufacturer. That said, the next thing that he told
me, really surprised me. He said that the bulk of oil produced in
the US is sold to foreign governments(I.E. Japan - More money per
barrel?) and that very little stays in the US. We can't
manufacture it as cheaply as we can buy it from others. So we
sell ours to Europe and Japan who are used to paying a higher
price for fuel and we buy the cheaper stuff from the middle east.
Funny what the old Dollar bill does to things.
I was reading one of the letters that stated that Alaska wouldn't
implode if we drill for oil there. Yes, he's right but, I'll bet
they tear the hell out of the place while their there and where
is the oil going to go after it's pumped out. We destroy our
country so that some oil company and our Government can make a
few bucks and help balance our trade deficit. It seems to me that
our Governments policies are a bit askew. I understand that they
are saving us a few dollars at the pump but, why can't we be more
efficient in our use or have an viable alternative. I guess that
we will have to wait until the oil supplies start to run out and
the oil companies get into solar energy before that will happen.
It's funny listening to people calling you self-righteous and
arrogant. These people think that just because we live in a
country where they can make their own decisions that, it doesn't
matter what decisions that they make. They don't effect anything,
it's their God given right. We can't destroy the Earth.
Well, they are right, we can't destroy the Earth but, we sure can
change what it will look like for future generations. Yes, one
person won't hurt anything but, millions of people with the same
attitude will. Now days it seems that their attitude is becoming
the norm, the "use it, we won't lose it" thinking is
taking hold.
The Earth can adapt but, I'm not sure that what will be here for
future generations is what I would want my great grand kids or
beyond to have to deal with.
Funny thing, I almost bought a Toyota Sequoia. If it hadn't been
for the jerks at the dealership, I would have. I ended up down
the street at the Volvo dealer and am very glad that I did. Other
that a little bit of ground clearance (I only have 8.2 inches)
and granny gears for off roading, I have a pretty awesome
vehicle.
Sorry, got carried away. It touches a nerve. I love my country,
love the outdoors and enjoy off-roading. It really bugs me that
some people think that this Earth is theirs and theirs alone, to
do with whatever they will. We all live here together and suffer
the consequences of others, no matter how small. The Earth is a
closed system. What goes around, comes around.
The best to you and yours
Lance

Thanks for the kudos. I was reading some
of the posts on your site and it just got the primal juices
flowing.
I checked out the DVD and enjoyed it. My favorite part was Rob
Harris. The man had a gift. It's a shame he's not with us
anymore.
I haven't put the sticker on yet. Been kinda busy, it happens
sometimes. I'm thinking of putting it on my RV (Gaspig).
I thought that would be a good place for it. (drive slow and
everyone has to read it as they pass).
One final note. I know you have two web sites and I know you do
at least some of the work. If ever you are in need of web
services, I have a good friend that does that sort of thing. He
is quite good. www.servoweb.com <http://www.servoweb.com> .
One of his sites I frequent: http://www.v70xc.com/
Anyway Not trying to advertise, just thought I would pass it on.
Take care
Lance
P.S. Your commentary came out very well. I liked the informal way
you did it. It Worked.
